Live Streaming! Everyone’s getting excited about it. It’s everywhere. If you’re looking to start live streaming your church services, but aren’t sure where to start, I suggest you spend $0 and download a free copy of Open Broadcaster Software [OBS].
OBS gives you the ability to live switch between multiple camera sources and scenes. While it’s not the most elegant video streaming software, you can set it up pretty easy and get to streaming your services on pretty much any platform, including Youtube and Facebook Live.
I’ve put together a quick tutorial on how you can initially set up OBS and get a camera or two ready to stream.
In here, I use a webcam as the example source for video, but you can use a proper HD video camera with an HDMI capture device from Blackmagic or Magwell or others.
Here’s a few that work great**
- Blackmagic Mini Recorder (thunderbolt)
- Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle (thunderbolt)
- Magwell HDMI – USB 3.0 Capture Device
